Ecotricity had a large number of legacy systems and manual processes that were holding the business back. C3's founder worked with the Tech & transformation Director to identify and implement a digital transformation strategy.

  • Transformed technology across the Ecotricity group, impacting customer-facing systems (websites and apps for sales and account management), operations (nationwide EV charging network), and the world’s first UN-certified carbon-neutral vegan football club.
  • Oversaw a complete system replacement, integrating new systems for crucial business functions like Billing, ERP, People Management, Contact Centre & IVR Telephony, Payments, Customer Engagement (Braze), and Communication Orchestration.
  • Re-architected systems to an event-driven, serverless microservices architecture in AWS capable of handling high scale data in
  • Ensured reliability of key systems (e.g. pre-pay top up meters to avoid customers losing supply

Build Internal Team

Ecotricity had been working with a consultancy to deliver services but wanted to increase the team in house to reduce costs and increase internal competencies.

  • More than doubled the team size to 60+, necessitating 3 office moves in Bristol to accommodate growth
  • Increase collaboration across four locations and multiple departments (Product, Data, IT Services, and business functions) to break down silos and improve effectiveness
